Who: Tim and Raylan
What: Vampire AU, Raylan isn't following orders as usual. Continued from here.
Warnings: Vampire stuff, who knows

Raylan knew that going up to Lexington to meet with Tim and get his weekly fix along with giving his report was the best option open to them. But knowing that wasn't enough. There had to be some option that didn't involve him getting so damn intimate with a friend and ex-coworker. He'd called Tim a few hours before, but just got his voicemail. Saying he couldn't get away for their weekly meeting, but he'd find a way to get the report to him. It was total bullshit.

He went to the the very place he'd discussed with Tim. Sitting in one of the trailers at Audrey's, with who he was assured was their cleanest girl. He'd talked her down from having sex with him, offering to pay her double just for her wrist. This seemed to confuse the poor addled girl. He was part of Boyd's crew, that meant he got it all and at half price.

Unlike Raylan, Tim wasn't a very angry person. He didn't have much of a temper, and was more likely to become exasperated or vaguely annoyed than angry. What little temper he did have didn't flare up very often, or very big.

But irritation flickered inside of him at Raylan's words, the quiet flames of anger making him clench his jaw.

"That was somethin' that we needed to know," he said, and his tone snapped more than usual. 'We' being the marshal's service, not the general population. If they were going to take down Boyd, they needed to know everything. They needed to be aware of everything. If they were going to do this, they couldn't have a blind spot.

"I needed to know that." Because being fed on was dangerous enough as it was, let alone when he wasn't aware of all the risks.

Tim took a slow, deep breath and unclenched his jaw, staring at a spot on the wall just over Raylan's shoulder. Look. This was him dialing it back. It was official: he liked Raylan better when he was alive. Somehow, he was less annoying then.

After a moment, he directed his gaze back to Raylan, any irritation completely erased from his face. Not because he wasn't irritated, but because he had a really great poker face.

"Is there anything else you're not tellin' me?" he asked. Just to be sure. Also since that was the entire reason they were meeting up in the first place. So Raylan could pass along information. Which definitely included shit about how vampires worked.

Tim put a hand on Raylan's chest to stop him, to keep him from walking past. He knew very well that if Raylan didn't want to be stopped or pushed back, he was more than capable of of continuing on his way, physically speaking. He could easily overpower Tim, despite Tim's extensive military training.

The thought was way more erotic and arousing than it should've been, but most things were for Tim.

Raylan's chest remained still under his palm, Tim noted. There was no heartbeat, no breathing, and he didn't think that will ever stop being eerie to him, no matter how many vampires he encountered. But he didn't pull his hand away. He glanced up at Raylan.

"This how it's always gonna be?" he asked. "Somethin' happens that you don't like so you pitch a fit about it? How's that been workin' for you?"

Of course, Raylan's answer to that was to pitch a fit about it. Go figure.

Tim's eyes flickered briefly in surprise as Raylan suddenly looked him straight in the eye, though he didn't let it show anywhere else on his face. Sit down Raylan said, gestured, and suddenly, that command was the only thing in his head. Like everything else short circuited and that was all he had left to do.

So he did it. He backed off and took a seat where Raylan indicated. And for a moment that was all he did, was sit there, watching Raylan. Then all at once, the wires reconnected and he realized what he was doing. Sitting down, because Raylan said so. Sitting down, even though he didn't want to be. It didn't make a whole lot of sense, but it was more than enough to fray all of Tim's nerves.

"What the fuck, Raylan?"

He didn't stand up, but he was looking up at Raylan, jaw clenched and glaring.

Tim stood up, to meet Raylan at the door, to slam it shut again and put himself between it and the vampire. He hadn't been happy when this meeting started, and he'd only grown more and more annoyed the longer it went on. Probably, he should've just let Raylan go. They both needed to cool down. The longer they argued, the more agitated they would get, and that wasn't bound to lead to anything good. It never did. But Tim was having trouble letting it go.

All he wanted to do before was get this over with. Now all he wanted to do was fight. Funny how Raylan brought that out in him.

He pressed his back against the door, already knowing that if Raylan wanted to move him, he could. But he looked up at the other anyway, jaw tight. "You didn't think that was somethin' you should've told us?"

What he really meant was 'something you should've told me,' but it was easier to pretend it was just about the marshal's service, and not himself.

Tim had seen Raylan angry before. They might not have worked together for very long before the other got turned, but it was sort of hard to miss. Raylan seemed to be angry frequently, as if where Tim had endless patience, the ex-deputy had none. But this was a different kind of anger. It was the kind of tight-jawed, tense-armed rage Tim used to see in his daddy. Only Raylan had the mind to push it back instead of act on it.

But it let Tim know that he was treading on very thin ice.

"I believe it was about two minutes ago I asked you if there was anything else you weren't tellin' me," Tim said, and he was quiet and calm in all the ways Raylan wasn't. "I guess I could be wrong, but I reckoned that somethin' like that might be covered by that question."

They were close again. Closer than they should've been. Tim could still see the dark red rage in Raylan's eyes, even now that it was faded, and that should've been enough to tell him to back the fuck off. But Tim never was very good at self-preservation. Instead, he was quite skilled in the art of self-destruction. So he tilted his chin up, and looked Raylan in the eyes as he said, softly, "I can't decide if that sounds more like a threat or a promise."

Because Tim couldn't ever seem to understand anything that was actually good for him. Like going to the VA, or not drinking, or not taunting or pushing Raylan into feeding from him. It was ridiculous, honestly. Especially considering that he was the one that finally decided that they couldn't do this shit anymore.

Though, not the one to originally suggest it. That said something, probably. It said a lot.

Because now, he was very tired of Raylan choosing to practice all the restraint he had. Now, all he wanted was Raylan's teeth in his throat. To feel that rush that would come with it, a better feeling than he'd ever gotten with alcohol. For once, he didn't need it. But he fucking wanted it. He was tired of waiting, his seemingly endless patience finally running dry. He wasn't dancing around it anymore.

"Don't threaten me," he said, and he reached up, curling his fingers around Raylan's tie, not yanking him closer, but definitely pretending him from stepping away as Tim leaned in. "Just bite me."

Doing this with Raylan always brought on a slew of confusing, contradicting feelings, which was at least half the reason they shouldn't have been doing this anyway. But Tim didn't regret it. Not yet. Not when the hand in his hair made his jeans feel a little too tight. Not when he could practically taste anticipation and adrenaline, and his heart was beating hard and unsteady in his chest.

He wanted this. And Raylan wanted it to. So why the fuck not?

His hand left Raylan's tie, sliding up carefully to touch the other's face, tracing the veins with light fingertips. There were a lot of things he was feeling right now, but fear wasn't one of them. He was never afraid with Raylan. Maybe he should've been, but he wasn't. He trusted Raylan.

"Yeah," he agreed quietly, his palm sliding from the line of Raylan's jaw to the back of his neck, pulling a little urgently. "It's okay. Do it."

Time felt like it was ticking by too slow, every second passing without Raylan's teeth in his in Tim's neck a second wasted. But Tim was patient, oddly comfortable with Raylan's fingers curled into his hair and his hand pressingly lightly against the back of the other's neck. Raylan's lips parted over his throat and Tim had enough time to inhale sharply before he was bitten.

It was not gentle, but that suited Tim fine. He always liked things a little bit bruising. The euphoria hit him like a god damn wave, an intense sort of pleasure that made him moan low and brokenly in his throat. It was a good thing, probably, that the door was so close, because Tim found himself leaning back against it, keeping Raylan pulled close with a hand on his neck, the other on his waist, fingers curling tightly into the fabric.

He wasn't concerned with how bad of an idea this was, how it would inevitably cause more problems than they already had. Currently, he was only concerned with trying to keep the noises rising in his throat to a minimum. Which was much easier said than done, at this point.
comfortablyerect: (they're gonna rip it off)

Tim knew that Raylan couldn't take as much blood as he usually did. He was already unhealthily low on it as it was, thanks to the feedings he participated in during the last week. He was aware that it needed to stop, but it was hard to care through the euphoria, especially once Raylan's hips pressing close only added to the intense pleasure. His hand slid back to the other man's ass, just to ensure Raylan stayed close.

A shiver ran down his spine, a sick combination of pleasure and blood loss and Raylan's cool body against his. It didn't necessarily become uncomfortable or painful, but everything started to dull a little, and Tim's head swam fuzzily. The moans softened before they tapered off completely, but his breathing remained shaky and unsteady.

"Raylan," he murmured, and there were still faint traces of pleased breathlessness in the way he said it, though it was mostly an attempt to get his attention. His hand flattened against the curve of Raylan's collarbone, pushing instead of pulling now. "Stop."
comfortablyerect: (but that don't make no sense to me)

[personal profile] comfortablyerect 2016-01-26 07:06 am (UTC)(link)
This was what he wanted. It was still what he wanted. Despite how weak he felt, how fuzzy his head was, how close he probably was to passing out from blood loss, the euphoria had yet to fade away. It would probably fade faster than normal, since the feeding was short and he was in pretty rough shape. But as long as it was still there, this was what he wanted.

Hell, even when it wasn't there, this would be what he wanted.

He murmured a soft agreement, leaning all his weight back against the door. He brought an arm up, pressing the sleeve of his shirt against his neck. What he really wanted to do was sit down right where he stood, but he remained mostly upright. Out of sheer stubbornness, and maybe to prove a point.

"This is exactly what I wanted," he said, and it was hard to tell if he was calm or if his voice was just remarkably quiet. "So stop bein' angry about it."

Tim wondered how exhausting it must have been to be as high strung as Raylan was, and the thought almost made him laugh, the high still fogging his brain. He ended only smiling instead, a faint twitch of his lips.

He was having trouble caring about Raylan's lecture, even though the other man was completely right. This was stupid, what he was doing. It was dangerous and reckless and he was overestimating his own strength and his ability to fend off vampires. But it was hard to think about that when too many days went by and he could practically feel his veins burning for the bite. He had a problem. Logically, he knew that. But he'd never found anything that worked quite this well at keeping the nightmares and paranoia at bay.

At least he wasn't drinking so much anymore. A silver lining.

"I'm fine," he said, and though he tried to press his sleeve harder to his neck, he didn't really have the energy it took to keep Raylan's hands away from him. His hand ended up dropping, but it was only to grab Raylan's wrist, eyes open suddenly. His gaze was rather unfocused, but he looked from Raylan to the drop of blood on his thumb.

He could still hear Raylan's voice telling him what it meant when vampires gave humans their blood, that it made the humans belong to them, and Tim didn't know how he felt about that. About belonging to Raylan. "I'm okay," he assured quietly.
