Who: Raylan Givens, Chris Argent
What: Raylan's newest case isn't quite what he's used to
Warnings: N/A
Something about this case wasn't adding up. Bodies turning up looking like they'd been shredded by an animal, all localized around where this Californian fugitive was said to be hiding. More aggressive and out of control dogs in Harlan. That's just what he needed. Hand at his belt, he approached the door of the house, with great caution.

And Chris wasn't accepting no for an answer. Sure, the guy looked like he could probably handle himself in most circumstances, but this one wasn't most, and Chris already had more than enough death on his hands.
"Let me guess. Law enforcement."

He didn't bother going for the badge in his jacket, just indicating the star on his belt. Right next to his gun. "Deputy US Marshal Raylan Givens."
He didn't ask for it, but he fully expected an introduction in turn.

The title did, however, tell him exactly how much trouble the wolf he was tracking had caused, and at this point he had no qualms about classifying him as such. You get to a point, he'd found, where the damage outweighed any humanity the thing you were tracking had. Easier to call it as it was at that point.
"Chris Argent," was about all he offered in return. If he asked for credentials, he was fairly sure the ones he did have wouldn't be quite enough to justify him being here, government contracts or not. Better not to provide them in the first place.
"Anybody can find that star at a pawn shop and throw around a title. Marshal."
